imageIt’s true! Angels are trading their wings and halos for fur coats and bones to be born on earth as dogs but first they must learn what it means to be a dog so they go to school. They learn about various dog breeds and different dog jobs and when they graduate they get their fur coat and are born on earth to find the person they were made for. Explore the wonderful world of dogs through the eyes of one special little angel whose everlasting dream is to be a person’s best friend and the one who bares a special mark of the legend of the pink toe.

Angel in a Fur Coat was just what my inner-child needed. The concept, the story and the characters were adorable. Where were books like this when I was a child? Dog lovers, you’ll love this book, no matter your age.

Dustin Reviews: ‘The Returns’ by M.K. Clinton

'The Returns'Get ready to laugh out loud while reading a book! Life was good for F.B.I. Agent #7 Bentley Clanton. He had the job of his dreams and partnered with his best friend, Aiden Davenport. Together, they had been working to arrest the infamous arms dealer, Maurice “Tombstone” Larson. Unfortunately, things went bad leaving Bentley shot.

Arriving in Heaven before his time, he is escorted to the Returns Department. He meets his Guardian Angel, Faith Fullilove. She promises that she’ll be on earth when he “returns.” She can’t tell him what form he will take. The last thing he thinks is that his new life will consist of him having two long ears, giant paws, four stubby legs, and a tail.

He is teamed with three other Returns, a fun loving Golden Retriever, a feisty Chihuahua, and a flamboyant West Highland Terrier. They sniff out the trail of his nemesis, Tombstone Larson, during Mardi Gras season. When their investigation draws the attention of his former partner, Aiden travels to uncover what is really going on in the Crescent City of New Orleans. What happens when they meet face to snout?? Join in their fun and laughter as you find out!.

The Returns was an awesome story with extraordinarily entertaining larger-than-life characters (the “returns”). Although at first I was a bit apprehensive about reading this story, afraid that it would be too juvenile. That was NOT the case here. The story-line never drags and the doggie antics keep the read light and interesting. Kudos to M.K. Clinton on her debut novel. This reader will be on the lookout for her next novel.

M.K. ClintonAbout the author

My husband and I have been happily married for 31 years. We have two grown children. We are both retired and love not having to wake up at the crack of dawn! We share our home with a Basset Hound, Bentley who was the inspiration for my book. He has a perfect number 7 on his side so my character was an FBI agent badge #7 that “returns” the body of a Basset Hound. I love laughing, writing, reading, gardening, LSU football, baseball and spending time with my family.

In her debut novel, The Returns, M.K. Clinton explores the brotherhood of unlikely friends Bentley, Tucker, Pierre & Bones as they sniff out crime in NOLA [New Orleans, Louisiana].

Dustin Reviews: When Dad Came Back As My Dog by Robert Alexander

When Dad Came Back As My Dog by Robert AlexanderWhat would you give to have someone back from the grave, even for an hour or two? Better yet, what would you say?

For those who’ve loved and lost yet find themselves still looking for answers, this heart-warming book tells the story of how Robby discovers love, life, death, and dogs. But what really happened back in his hometown of Chicago…and is it happening again? There’s only one place to find the truth…and only one creature who can tell him. A humorous look at all that can be found when all seems lost, When Dad Came Back As My Dog recounts the somewhat fictional but mostly true tale of a prominent Windy City family.

Robert Alexander Times bestselling author of The Kitchen Boy and other historical novels.

I thought the title: When Dad Came Back As My Dog was cute. However I feared the novella would be a hokey and childish read. I was TOTALY Wrong.

The fast paced story unfolds as Robby’s emotions and struggles are revealed. Sometimes humorous and always interesting, the story had me in tears during several passages. An uplifting and upbeat story that anyone (regardless of age) who has ever loved a dog can relate.
